UPDATED 6:24 a.m. Sunday Police have laid drug charges against three people after a bustFriday in the same Halifax apartment house where a man was shotdead two weeks ago. Officers with the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP integrated drug unitsearched an apartment in the 2700 block of Clifton Street at about8 p.m., police said in a news release Saturday. The Halifax force"s central quick response unit also tookpart in the operation. Staff Sgt. Barb Saunders of Halifax Regional Police confirmedSaturday that the bust occurred in the same building where CoreyDuane Lucas, 36, was shot dead inside an apartment on May 25. Saunders said she didn"t know if the search was related tothe shooting, which police have said was drug-related. "There were investigative reasons," she said in aninterview. "If we receive information regarding criminalactivity, we investigate." Two men and a woman were arrested without incident duringFriday"s bust. The search turned up crack cocaine, oxycodone,drug paraphernalia, a handgun, ammunition and cash. William Lee Bolliver, 31, Harold William Marshall, 46, and SusanAnn Hawes, 52, all of Halifax, remain in custody and are to appearin Halifax provincial court Monday on various trafficking,possession and weapons charges. Hawes, whom sources say is Bolliver"s mother, also facesthree counts of breaching a recognizance and one of breachingprobation. Bolliver, who was shot in the leg when Lucas was killed in theapartment shooting, has said the attack on them was notdrug-related. Bolliver recently told CBC News that two men burst into theapartment and shot him first with a .25-calibre handgun and thenshot Lucas. "I grabbed the man"s hand and Corey jumped up andstarted firing fists and hitting him directly in the face, andbuddy is backing up and popping off shots and trying to coverhimself," Bolliver said. The gunman and the other man fled after running out of bullets, hesaid. Neighbours have described the apartment as a crack house. In the days after the fatal shooting, police searched residences onWillett Street in Clayton Park, Kelly Point Drive in Prospect andLayton Road in Spryfield. They arrested seven people on Kelly Point Drive and seized cocaine,marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. Nicholas Bernard MacLellan and Jessica Ann Desrochers, both 21 andof Kelly Point Drive, face trafficking and possession charges. Dylan Peter Roach, 20, of Dartmouth is also charged withtrafficking.
