Being a parent is hard work. You are constantly tired from your job while juggling color-coded schedules and chore charts on the fridge. And forget about that meal plan you made a few weeks ago; instead, you and your family are relying on frozen meals and take-out orders. You have been so busy trying to keep everything together that you often forget about what is really important in life and neglect to have fun with your young child. Between work and being a responsible adult, you push everyday enjoyment out of the window. Before you start to schedule in a time to feel guilty about that, consider something else. Take an afternoon to discuss with your child what he or she would like to do. Having fun together can be a great way to bond with one another and even learn, thanks to these 3 tips. Learn Together In today's world, one of the best things about early education is that it allows for parents to be involved as little or as much as they would like to be. Look into enrolling your little one in a preschool in Santa Ana and let the educational fun begin! Take the time to figure out with your child which school would be the best fit, and then make an adventure out of sitting in on different classes. Enroll in the one that feels right for both of you, and then stay involved! Offer to help the teacher in the classroom and be a part of the fun and games that go on every day while being a part of your child’s developing vital socialization skills. Not only will this be a fun activity for the two of you to share, but it will also set your child up on a successful future track. Preschool helps to lay the foundation for further education, and what could be more fun than that? Read Together Another way to have a great time with your child is to get him or her a library card of their own. Take a special afternoon outing to a local branch and enroll. This process is typically as easy as showing a driver's license or proof of residence, and then opens up an entire world of books, movies, and music for you and your child. Head on over to the picture book section and make a game of letting your kid choose 10 books that he or she finds the most interesting. Check those books out, read them together at home, and then go back a few days later to do it all over again! These trips will help spark a love for reading in your child and is also a cheap way to have great shared experiences. Walk Together A great way to spend time with your child is to go on a nature walk together. Not only does this get your child off the couch and away from technology, but it also allows for wildlife fun and education. Check out a book on bird watching from your library and make a day of trying to identify every winged friend that you stumble across. These walks are also a great way to relieve any stress that you may be feeling from work, while showing your child that you love them. The next time that you are stressing out about not having enough fun with you child, remember that there are easy things you can do today to fix that. Consider enrolling in a preschool in Santa Ana, getting a library card together, or going on a nature walk. All of these little things will add up to big fun to be remembered by you and your child for years!
