Drivers that reside in the state of Florida are given the ability to choose to go to Florida traffic school in order to remove points from their licenses, reduce the amount of fines they have to pay for a ticket, or avoid premium increases. In the past, the only individuals that were mandated to go through one of these courses were the people that were constantly involved in auto collisions. However, there have been a lot of new laws passed in the state that are beginning to require drivers to take this type of schooling in order to be able to keep their license privileges. The state requires individuals to complete a four hour driver improvement course if they are seen to be at fault for a motor vehicle accident, or if someone was taken to the hospital as a result of a collision. As of October 2009, drivers that reside in the state are being mandated to complete one of these courses if they have had multiple traffic violations as well. If the individual that is instructed by the courts to complete this schooling does not complete the schooling within ninety days of receiving their citation, their driving privileges may be taken away from them. Also, individuals that reside within the state that have been involved in at least three auto collisions are mandated to take a school that totals sixteen hours of class time. Most people actually choose to take one of these courses so they can avoid their insurance from being cancelled or increased. Be aware, that the more points you have that go against your license, the larger chance you have of losing it. The good news is these days students can choose to take Florida traffic school online. Therefore, they will not have to alter their schedules in order to make room for this monotonous schooling.
