The luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz is headquartered in the quaint German city of Stuttgart. Also known as the cradle of the automobile, the city is the seventh largest in Germany and has over 5 million inhabitants. Stuttgart has a reputation as a city that is conducive to creative and business-oriented individuals. The city is also home to numerous mineral spas, musical theaters, sporting arenas, and luxury carmakers including Daimler AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes. The venue actually stands right outside of the main gate of the factory and was designed by UN Studio, a prominent Dutch architectural firm. The architectural firm specializes in highly modern and urban creations. One of the inspirations of the design is the cloverleaf, whereby the building is composed of three circles that overlap. The building also contains a triangular atrium that is located exactly in the center. The building has been around since 2006 and was designed to maximize the space. Most of the space is dedicated to exhibition and contains over 160 vehicles. Included among the vehicles are some of the earliest models that date to over 100 years old. The museum gets hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Visitors are treated to free audio tours that are available in several languages. Visitors of Stuttgart often make the Mercedes Benz headquarter factory and museum a must see. Reviews of the facilities have praised the highly educational set-up of the venue, family-friendly subject matter, and overall clean and high-tech environment. Considerable in size, some visitors have found that the museum took over 4 hours to tour completely because it covers more than just the German car maker but also the history of car-making in general.
