European Single Manager Awards 2012 shortlist announced 26 Apr 2012 The Hedge Funds Review 12th Annual European Single Manager Awards 2012 published shortlist reflects outstanding performances by managers in one of the most difficult years for hedge funds. Despite one of the worst years for performance ever, a myriad of European single manager hedge funds have proven themselves and are included on the shortlist for Hedge Funds Review European Single Manager Awards 2012. The awards seek to honour those hedge funds that bucked the trend and achieved outstanding performance. Now in their 12th year, the awards reflect both qualitative and quantitative aspects of hedge funds. The accolades recognise a variety of individual strategies that showed outstanding performance in 2011, including long/short equity, event driven, global macro, fixed income, credit/distressed, equity market neutral, foreign exchange, global emerging markets and many others. Alternative Ucits performance awards will highlight outstanding performance in a range of strategies as well as the best launch of the year. The judging panel, chaired by Hedge Funds Review editor Margie Lindsay, is impartial and unbiased. It seeks to reward genuine performance and success. Funds were assessed not only of their overall performance but also against peers using a variety of criteria. The judging panel for the 2012 awards are William Benjamin, global head of research at HSBC Alternative Investments; Chris Jones, head of alternatives at Bfinance; Tushar Patel, chief investment officer and managing director at HFIM; and Matthew Roberts, senior investment consultant, manager research, at Towers Watson.
