Sending a simple introductory e-mail with a resume and contact information may give you the opportunity to get a phone call later when the time is right. If you're feeling particularly bold, see if you can schedule a face-to-face meeting to learn more about the company and explain why you may be a good future fit. Either way, you'll have your name implanted in the hiring manager's memory and you may be kept in mind in the future. Always Remember to Work Your Connections If you are deep in the search for a programming job, see if there is anybody you already know who works at some of the companies that interest you. They'll likely know about any possible job openings and can bring you up to their co-worker.
