We’ve all been there at one time or another. It seems like you have hit every spot in a Houston nightlife directory, the world is spinning, and you feel like you could do just about anything. The next thing you know, you are waking up in the morning and you feel sore. Maybe it’s on your arm, or leg, or back or someplace that you worry about, like your rear. You peel open your eyes, blinded by the sunlight and the raging hangover you have and notice in the bathroom mirror something staring back at you besides your face badly in need of a shave. That’s right, at some point during the evening last night you went at got a tattoo. Odds are if you had a lot to drink, it’s not even a tattoo that you really wanted to have. It’s likely that you got something that you never would have picked out in the first place because your head was swimming with tequila, vodka or some other lethal combination. I can say that this can happen to anyone because it has happened to me. I got so caught up in having fun at the clubs that night that I don’t even really remember what happened after we left the club. It was only after I got out of the bathroom and called my buddies that I was able to piece together the story. We had a pretty wild night with it ending with us doing shots at some late night place. When we got out of there, we somehow convinced our designated driver to take us to a well-known tattoo parlor in the city that was open all night. Luckily for us, our designated driver had pretty much had with us by this point and did nothing to stop us from doing all of this. We arrived at the tattoo parlor convinced we were going to get some kind of tattoo that would show our brotherhood with each other. We talked about getting stuff that said things like “Brothers” or “The Three Amigos,” but we finally settled on “The Three Musketeers” and would have swords and look really cool. We each went with a different artist and let them know what we wanted. Of course, things never turn out the way that we hope, do they? When I woke up the next morning, I found that I and my two buddies did indeed have “Three Musketeers” tattooed on our arms. Of course, what we had was a picture of the candy bar wrapper and candy bar. Needless to say, it has been the source of great entertainment for friends, family and all kinds of social media. I’ll be having mine taken off in a few weeks. Take my advice – check out the Houston nightlife directory and stick to the clubs, not the tattoos. If you do show up at the tattoo parlor, you can at least check out the picture of our tattoos for a good laugh.
