How to Build a Home According to Feng Shui Principles

Feng Shui,Real Estate
Real estate Feng Shui can be applied not only to existing homes, but to those homes that are preparing to be built. Many homeowners today have decided to incorporate these principles into the building of their homes, taking many things into account during the process.

When incorporating principles of Feng Shui into the building of a home, the first thing that is taken into consideration is the home site and its surroundings. Just as they say in real estate, it's all about location, location, location. Where the house will be placed on the land is vitally important in Feng Shui, for it will help determine how well positive energy will flow into and through the house. Preferably, the home should be placed on land that is flat or sloping slightly upwards. If there are any mountains around, it's suggested they be kept at the back of the house to act as security and stability for the homeowners. Water, or its feng shui symbol, should be flowing in front of the house in a gentle and auspicious manner.

Working with a feng shui consultant who will do a block survey, homeowners will have a chance to discover the impact of ley lines and underground water veins on their home. Ley lines, also known as earth radiation lines, are supposed to impact owner's health and well-being along with the underground water veins in a negative fashion. After the feng shui consultant has completed their block land survey, they will sit down with the homeowners and make their recommendations for the design of the home. If ley lines or underground water veins are present, consultants will advise not building bedrooms over these areas due to their negative impact on one's health.

The consultant will also take the grid created from the block survey and find areas on the land that are most conducive to Love, Health, Respect, Career, Children, Fame and many other areas. Based on these results, the consultant will make suggestions as to how the house should be designed. For example, they would suggest the front door be aligned with the back door, or having a staircase facing the main door. By doing so, this will allow the Chi, or universal energy, to flow freely throughout the house.

Consultants will also take into account the shape of the home to be built. Nowadays, not all homes are squares or rectangles, so it can be difficult to have Chi flowing through all areas of the home. Homes with odd shapes will be built with decks, swimming pools, landscaping and gardens strategically placed to allow for the correct flow of positive energy. Keeping a home free of clutter is also important to Feng Shui principles, so building a home in such a way as to not allow areas to become cluttered is also part of the design process.

The idea of having positive energy flowing through a home is conducive to homeowners. With today's high-pressure world of working and raising families, feng shui is an idea whose time has come in the West. Building a home that feels right to its owners is a complicated process, but one that can be accomplished through consulting with an expert in the ancient art of Feng Shui.

">Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese art of placement that supposedly brings health, prosperity, love, harmony and luck to one's home and life, is gaining in popularity throughout the Western world. As more people become concerned with lowering their stress levels, the principles of Feng Shui and the idea of having positive energy flowing through the house are very enticing and relaxing. Real estate Feng Shui can be applied not only to existing homes, but to those homes that are preparing to be built. Many homeowners today have decided to incorporate these principles into the building of their homes, taking many things into account during the process.
