So find a dental caregiver who has a convenient location if that is an option available to you. You also need to look for a dentist who has compatible office hours to your schedule. The more flexible you can be with your schedule the better the chances are that the dentist you select can get you in without long breaks in between much needed visits. You should also make sure any dentist you select can accept your health insurance or if you are uninsured will they do a payment plan with you? It doesn’t hurt to ask about discounts for cash payments, especially if you are going to be paying out of pocket so don’t be embarrassed to ask about discounts when you do your initial phone interview. It is also a good idea to ask how far out your appointments would be scheduled. The person who does the doctor’s scheduling can probably give you a realistic time frame of how long it takes to get in on a regular basis. A lot of established dental healthcare providers can easily be scheduled out months at a time but often a dentist who hasn’t been in practice long enough to build up a large cliental can get you in faster for visits. And don’t rule out a dentist just because his practice is newer. All dentists are required to go through a great deal of training in dental college and by the time they graduate they are very qualified to practice dentistry. If you find a dentist who meets your initial criteria schedule an appointment and make sure the dentist fits your needs.
