Human body releases the hormones adrenalin, cortisol and corticotrophin when a person feels stresses or is affected by a traumatic event. His body responds by releasing these mentioned hormones those are responsible for supplying body with the energy to physically fight or run away from the stressful situation or threat. Stress – nervous tension, anxiety, constant worry, stain or tension, trauma or pressure for certain things and responsibilities can contribute to weight gain as well. And, weight gain again welcomes more stress and worry. It also can contribute in other health problems. So, in simple and short words, stress and weight gain are causes of each other. We should understand that along with nervous tension or stress, hormonal changes and psychological dynamics take place and this combination can result in weight gain. Actually, in any kind of stress human body automatically starts up a series of events to change the chemistry of the body. Nervous tension triggers a rush of adrenaline through the body and blood pressure rises. This leads to sugar being pumped into the body for energy. And, this let a person eat more. This situation of changes in hormones and changes in the chemistry of the human body result in lower levels of hormone secretion due to which there is an increase in appetite, insomnia, depression and anxiety. Stress and weight gain have become one of the major concerns for human being, in contemporary lives, which is becoming threat to cause other health problems as well.
