You may be concerned that your grout lines are getting dirty but you would be surprised at how dirty all of the tile and grout actually is. I recently put together a little video about tile and grout cleaning in Friendswood Tx and it was really an eye opener as to how simple and useful it could be. I made it quick and didn’t have time to explain much in the video. Here I want to take it a little deeper and help you recognize dirty grout and know what it can look like. Just about every home has some sort of tile flooring. Whether it’s only in the bathrooms or throughout the whole house, just about everyone has tile floors. What people don’t usually acknowledge is how dirty it gets. Over time we forget how our tile and grout used to look because it changes over many years and very slowly. Regular sweeping and mopping pick up a lot of the soils but not all of it. In fact, what mopping leaves behind, it spreads out. Over time mopping creates an evenly dirty floor. In order to identify a dirty floor we have to know what to look for so I will start you off like I did in my tile and grout cleaning friendswood tx video. If you move your furniture around a bit you should be able to find the original color of your grout. Usually you can see this in corners or closets, places that don’t get much attention or that don’t get mopped over much. After you have identified the way the grout should look by finding a clean original area, now you can compare and contrast. Now you see that most of the grout in your house is actually quite soiled. If you have textured tiles, you can expect they will have quite a bit of soil in them. Just the same as your grout lines collect soils, textured tiles will too. I mention this because a professional cleaning will do more than clean your grout lines, your tiles will brighten up as well. The other part of my tile and grout cleaning Friendswood Tx video is the after cleaning part. After the floor is well cleaned you can see major difference in the grout lines. What I didn’t mention in the video is that the grout needs time to dry before observing final results. This usually takes a couple of hours or more. Sometimes because the pours may be very open, it can take a few days for the grout lines to completely dry. Professional cleanings are available for tile and grout cleaning. Having grout cleaned doesn’t mean that it will look new again. Most of the time there are some sort of damages in the tile and grout. For instance, when I dog urinates on the grout, it begins to degrade and after a professional cleaning you can identify the areas where a dog may have been. Certain cleaning products may also interfere with the surface of your floors depending on what type of tiles you have.
