Let me first say that what works best for one golfer does not always fit another golfer. I'm going to rave about this driver in this review, but what I hope that you take away from this review is that this is without a doubt a high quality club. According to TaylorMade, the R11S driver best price is bigger, more adjustable (“tunable,” in the company’s lingo), faster and longer than its predecessor. It retains the matte-white crown finish and black face, but bumps the size of the head up to 460cc (from 440cc) and adds a new, pentagonal Adjustable Sole Plate (“ASP”), different moveable weights and a new, 1.5-degree adjustable Flight Control Technology (“FCT”) hosel sleeve system. I do, however, recognize that some golfers really like adjustable drivers. It just seems to me that there are an awful lot of things to fiddle with on the TaylorMade R11S driver – you can adjust the hosel sleeve, the moveable weight cartridges, and the sole plate. How in the world does anyone get all those different adjustments “right?” I’d probably turn into a head case trying. I’d feel like I needed an owner’s manual just to adjust my driver properly. Let me first say that what works best for one golfer does not always fit another golfer. I personally would be fine paying as much for a driver that does not have any adjustments. I like my club to set up looking neutral and even though I can be a pretty big geek who likes to tweek things, I probably won't mess around with it much. I mentioned above that this club feels right to me. With the 60 gram shaft it still feels like there is still power in the head. The feel on center hits is really pleasing to me while you can tell when you hit it off center. It doesn't feel awful, but you can identify where you hit it on the face by the feel. The sound is more powerful and pleasing than the Taylormade RBZ driver which makes a loud 'toing' sound. The R11s makes more of a loud 'thwack'. But, for many golfers, the TaylorMade R11S driver is appealing because of its adjustability. For example, the FCT system has eight user-selectable positions to increase or decrease the driver’s loft by up to1.5 degrees. By using the ASP, you can choose one of five face angle settings (two more than the original TaylorMade R11 driver best price) to open or close the face within a 6-degree range. Doing so won’t affect the loft of the club. And, the driver’s Movable Weight Technology (“MWT”) lets you shift the center of gravity toward the heel or toe to promote the side-to-side ball flight you prefer. Without a doubt, I feel like I made a great purchase and an informed decision. I took this club to the range and was immediately complimented on how accurately I was hitting long drives. On my first round, I already had quite a bit of built in confidence in this club and I drove the ball remarkably well.
