There is no doubting what draws tourists to the incredible city of Brisbane Australia. It is in an incredible location that is close to the beach and the rainforests. The climate is incredibly agreeable too. People come to hit the variety of amusement parks in the area and to attend performances of many different kinds. It can be really fun to find some places to see that are not packed with tourists. To find some historical spots to visit is not hard. These are nice to go see because you will have a chance to learn a bit about the city you are visiting without having to fight the crowds at bustling touristy areas. Many travelers don't realize that Brisbane is home to what many believe to be the last gothic style cathedral to be completed. The plans for St Johns Cathedral, this unbelievably beautiful building, were drawn up in 1888 and it is still under construction. There are volunteers that will tell you all about the history of this place and take you on the tour. They are proud of this church and they do enjoy their visitors, especially those that come from so far away. The visit is worth it to see the unbelievable vaulted stone ceiling and of course the bright vivid stained glass windows. Don't forget to check out the gift shop while you are there. For a lovely outdoor tour you will have a beautiful day going to St. Helena Island. This one once the site of the most outstandingly awful prison in Australia. Now it gets regular loads of local school children out for a lovely and historic day. For an especially creepy treat you will have to take one of the night tours and go ghost hunting through the old inmate cemetery. You will have so many different things to choose from for your days in beautiful Brisbane. If you want to stay in the city, there are parks galore and of course all the museums. You can jump on one of the many tours too that will take you anywhere from snorkeling to whale watching and enjoying tea on the open water. If you read ahead and do a little research you will be able to better plan your stay, so you won't miss a thing. The brisbane accommodation should be near your favorite parts of this beautiful city.
