Although an application may be created to serve employees, customers, partners or even just to members of the organisation, the purpose needs to be met. No matter the target audience, the success metric the an application should be marked on is whether the goals have been met effectively. Keeping in to account the revenue, costs and customer satisfaction, we need to evaluate the success of a web application. The effectiveness of an application is measured on its capability to meet business web performance goals. A site or its applications need to focus on four things in the path to meet its goal. Availability is the first criteria whether you can see capability of the application in terms of availability. Second is the Responsiveness, this checks to see it is fast enough to meet user, organizations and website demands. Thirdly, Clarify of the applications features. The application needs to be user friendly. The features and functionality when it comes to the user interface should be simple and yet effective. And Lastly, Utility. This feature enables us to judge whether the applications have the utility to provide what we want. But effectiveness depends on all four aspects, and on their relationships. Application utility is tied to user behavior, which is driven by the clarity of the site, the design of the user interface, and the responsiveness of interactions between client and server components. The design and implementation of those components ultimately also determines application availability. There is a need for more coordination while the web applications are being developed. There is always scope for more measurement, web monitoring and load testing prior to deployment. The more we monitor and track after deployment, ensuring success is no more an issue.
