Do you need a new pan to replace the old one you have that has worn out? Are you a young couple scouting the home improvement centers for kitchen utensils? Or do you just want to buy a pan right now? Did you know about the cast iron griddle? It’s one of the most affordable kitchenware available out there so it won’t hurt your budget if you’ll give it a try and that’s not even its best feature. It’s inexpensive like what I’ve said. Why do you have to waste a fortune on pots and pans when you can get something that will do the same job at a fraction of a cost? Have you ever visited your local shopping malls recently? How much does a non-stick pan cost? Do you watch a lot of home TV shopping? How much do they cost even if they slash the prices because it’s the introductory offer or because you’re one of the five hundred callers? But do these utensils even last? Cast iron utensils just like your cast iron griddle, cast iron skillet, or cast iron pot will last a long time. And it’s more affordable than most of the ones you see in the home improvement centers or those that they advertise on TV. Did you know that since there’s iron in these utensils, a small portion of it gets added to you food which is actually health beneficial? We all need a little iron in our body since most of us are not getting enough. So if you want an iron mineral rich food, you have to go for a cast iron pots and pans. Those with non-stick solution pans have layers of chemicals in them that wore off overtime and they also mix in your food. These are chemicals which you wouldn’t want in your food. So if you’re going for a healthier choice, go for that griddle which gives you iron instead of the one that mixes chemicals in your food. The cast iron griddle is what you go for when you need to cook something on a flat surface. It’s great for frying. You can cook breakfast foods like pancakes, toasts, eggs and bacon as well as mouthwatering grilled food like steaks, vegetables or even burgers. If you’re going for dishes like soups and stews, I suggest you should go for a cast iron pot. Did you want to know that there’s a trick you can do with your cast iron griddle to make it a good alternative to its non-stick counterparts? Apply a layer of lard or cooking oil on the surface. Turn on the heat of your oven to three hundred degrees. Leave the griddle inside the oven for two hours. This method will help coat the griddle a thin layer of oil which helps fill up the little crevices on the surface. This will then prevent food from sticking to your griddle. You don’t have to do this every time you cook. It will actually last a long time as long as it isn’t scratched off. So you have to use wooden or nylon utensils with it. You also shouldn’t cook anything acidic with it like tomatoes because it will remove this film of oil or lard. Cast iron kettles have a centuries long history of reliability and long service life. Today’s kettles, made with modern technology and advances in metallurgy, are of higher quality than ever before and there is a place for one in every kitchen.
