LCSW CEU credits are an essential part of moving forward in your career, staying up to date with your licensing requirements, and pushing yourself by gaining as much current knowledge as possible about your chosen field. Accreditation is another concern anyone should have when looking at LCSW CEU credits. Some states require all the credits to come from an accredited place of learning and some don’t. This is something you need to be fully cognizant of when you take your classes, as it could come back to bite you when it comes time to renew your license. However, if you are only taking further education for your own personal growth, then you don’t need to be as concerned with whether the institution is accredited or not. Keep in mind that further education doesn’t always come from these types of formal classes, anyway. Keeping up with the latest journals in your field and even with online forums can be a great way to stay on top of advances. With any LCSW CEU credits, you may wish to check with your employer to see whom they recommend. Remember that everyone in your position will also be looking to keep up with his or her continuing education requirements, so they should be able to steer you in the right direction. Improving your base of knowledge beyond graduation can be fulfilling and enlightening, and it can make for rapid career growth.
