After watching an episode or two in one of the gorgeous Paris hotels, follow in your favourite characters footsteps and explore the city. Sex and the City: The setting of the series final episodes, women the world over sighed in jealousy when Carrie was invited to live in Paris by her artist boyfriend Aleksandr Petrovsky. The Hotel Plaza Athenee was our first glimpse into her fabulous new life as she and Aleksandr set up home here. Being a Paris institution, it’s a must to see and marvel at the sumptuous surroundings. Remember the scene where Carrie, looking resplendent in polka dots, feeds a rather large bull mastiff macaroons? The setting is the Angelina Salon de The, which was also Coco Chanel’s daily pit stop for a cup of their famous hot chocolate. It’s delicious! The Hills also took its leading characters, this time from LA, to Paris. Lauren and Whitney were whisked to Paris to assist on the city’s debutante ball, the Crillon Ball. From Charles de Gaulle airport, the girls are whisked around the city by chauffeur to a variety of up market shops before their evening at the ball, held at the famed Hotel Crillon. This impressive hotel is a definite on the must-see list! But the best moment in this episode has to be when Lauren is whisked around the city on a Vespa at night; past iconic landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and The Seine. Why not try this yourself on hotel deals to Paris or find a Parisian band member to show you the sights, just like Lauren? Blair Waldorf and Serena Van Der Woodsen spent a summer in Paris as a change to Gossip Girl’s usual backdrop of New York. The university La Sorbonne, in the Latin Quarter, was a massive setting. This gorgeous building is a must see when staying in hotels here as it is the city’s most famous. Fittingly, they also visited Musee Baccarat, a private museum of Baccarat crystal – we bet Blair made a shopping list in here!
