Landscaping is concerned with the beauty of natural surroundings as well as practical ways to use land and objects in it. It is the decorative and specialized planting of beautiful stone work grounds basically at or on a building area or land. In older days, many of these were gardens and country estates. For this reason, the designers were often called landscape gardeners. But nowadays, this art has been changed into a profession that involves the design and development of land for human use and enjoyment. So the people who are professionally trained in this field are called landscape architects or designers. Landscaping designing involves all levels at which land use decisions are made, from land planning to site design, to land use management. Landscape designers try to arrange outdoor facilities, so the facilities function smoothly and harmonize with the surroundings. In land planning, the designers prepare regional land use reports. They include environmental impact statements, evaluation of which land is best suited for various purposes etc. They study area features such as climate, water supply, vegetation, soil, composition and the slope of the land. They also attempt to preserve the attractive views available on various levels. Next level is the site design which is done after land use decisions. During this level, architects prepare site development plans and make the best use of breezes, sunlight and views. They also design walls, fences, steps, pavement patterns and planting arrangements. They also design to keep the sitting places, lawns, historical landmark statues, fountains and ornamental plants designed to fit well into building patterns. In land use management, the architects develop procedures for using land in a way that conserves its productivity and beauty. It refers how to maintain the landscaped gardens or parks throughout the entire climate cycle. They also plan various specifications or measures to be undertaken due to the changing climatic conditions. Today landscaping became world widely featured for lawn designs for homes, botanical gardens, central parks in the cities, playgrounds, jogging parks or outdoor gaming facilities like golf course. Landscape designers create plans for wide variety of land development projects. They design landscapes that flourish with natural parks to small city squares or from multi-family homing developments to gardens for single family homes. Ultimately, it’s the layering of human and natural specifications that gives a place its sense of harmony.
