A Pick Up Artist, often abbreviated as PUA, is a person that works out all of the processes required to ensure success when trying to attract women. Throughout history there have been womanizers, most famously Casanova, but the modern day Pick Up Artist did not emerge until the early 90’s. With the advent of the internet, like-minded lotharios from around the world were able to share information on their seduction techniques with one common goal; how to attract women. This band of brothers eventually became the first PUA’s. In the early days of this new movement, it was thought that the approach should be scripted, almost regimented with a specific routine in order to teach men how to get girls. The scripted chat up lines were rehearsed, taken out around bars and nightclubs and then reported back to the forums in order to perfect the best strategy. Complete systems were compiled for people to follow. As the online community began to grow; the interest increased in learning how to pick up girls. Entrepreneurial guys began to realise that this could be easily turned into a business. Workshops and boot camps started to spring up teaching all aspects of attraction from, how to talk to women, to how to groom and dress. It wasn’t until 2007 that PUA’s were brought to the forefront of mainstream audiences with the launch of the TV series, The Pick Up Artist, where guys competed against each other in various challenges, whilst being coached, with the loser being evicted. The winning contestant was then crowned The Pick Up Artist. This attracted millions of guys to the online seduction community. Gary Goldstein, one of the UK’s leading Attraction experts said “We have seen a massive rise in the number of guys wanting to learn or better their knowledge of attracting women. We only see this as a growth industry as there are a lot of people out there who want to go out and date but just do not know how or where to start. We are expanding our workshop locations and we have brought out a whole range of books on attraction. “A lot of my clients start out by learning how to talk to girls. This is a fundamental step in feeling confident when approaching women. We have special programs to suit all people and we tailor make everything to each and every person. We can do group sessions or one on one. I also coach by telephone and email. We try to make the whole experience fun and show people that dating is easy once you have the tools to do so. Many of our clients make friendships that last far beyond the course.
