The biography of The Kinks is an English band, founded in 1963 by two brothers, Dave and Ray Davies. The original artists include Ray Davies (vocals, keyboards, guitar & harmonica), Dave Davies (vocals & guitar), Mick Avory (drums), John Dalton (background vocals, bass instrument), John Gosling (keyboards), Peter Quaife, Ian Gibbons, Jim Rodford and Bob Henrit. The band began on a slow start, but their first breakthrough came with "You Really Got Me", a 1964 release that reached number-1 in the UK charts and US Top-10 hit. The Kinks looked back in time and drew their inspiration from records like Village Green Preservation society and Arthur.
