Becoming a model or an actor is the dream and hope for many young girls. They may spend hours looking in the mirror and hoping they’ve got the right ‘look’ for those large brands and top fashion companies to pick them among hundreds of other girls out there. The next step most girls or start up models take is to sign up with a modeling company. And here comes a major question: what is the difference between modeling schools and modeling agencies? Let’s find out. Now, the difference between these two is huge. As a rule, modeling agencies work both with new and experienced models to find them jobs. They earn their money from the commission on the fees paid to their models. This means, that legitimate modeling agencies are highly interested in promoting their models and getting them jobs. On the other hand, modeling schools mainly live on the fees paid to them by the models. They provide a range of ‘modeling’ services to the models to be. They may offer a number of modeling classes, runway walk classes, make up or outfit classes, etc. They may also provide you with paid consolations on photo sessions or charge you a fee for compiling your portfolio for you. This basically means that these modeling schools do not really care, if you get jobs in modeling. Their money comes from you and not from your clients. On one hand, it is a legitimate business and nothing is wrong with it. After all, new models do need lots of learning and classes. And attending a modeling school can be highly beneficial for your future modeling career. However, some modeling schools attract clients through fraud claims. They claim that they not only train the models, but also find them jobs and guarantee them contracts in modeling business. At this, they may charge you fees for getting registered with them. Most legitimate modeling agencies do not charge any fees for registration. They are interested in discovering new talents and hope to make money working with them. So, if you are planning on entering a modeling school, you should learn all the ins and outs of these organizations. Carefully read their contracts (including the fine print). Go online and find real customer reviews on those modeling schools. This would give you a great idea as to the honesty and reputation of such schools.
