In today’s competitive world of business, everything needs to be marketed to yield its targeted response from its customers. With dynamic lifestyle modifications happening consequent to westernisation, people opt to dine outside their homes either due to lack of time or due to variety of options available in dine-in restaurants. Because this is the first tool that comes in contact with the client and has to gain his good will and loyalty towards the restaurant. There are some criteria on which the print menu should be framed so that it serves as a competent tool. First of all, it has to be in proper shape and condition in order to be handled by the clients. Second of all it has to have provisions to hold many colourful illustrations of the menus so that the customers mouth waters on seeing the illustrations. Thirdly, it has to withstand wear and tear as it has been handled by numerous customers and lasts for longer time duration. Having all these criteria in mind, very few manufacturers of print menu cards have come forward to assist the hotel industry. And more recently they have also made their appearance online to make the whole process of ordering to shipment very easy and comfortable. Menu covers need to have a hard base to avoid withering out after repeated usage and is generally the size of an A4 sheet in majority of the hotels, it generally comes with insert sleeves between the hard base enabling any number of menu cards to be inserted or reinserted inside them. The corners of menu covers should be protected with metal corners avoiding pulling apart of the main cover. The Menu covers usually holds about 8 or 12 printed menu cards between them which are usually laminated to give it a glossy finish. Print menu are usually colourful illustrations of the actual foodavailable in that particular unit with their prices. Print menu can be prepared according to the wishes of the hotel owners and accordingly its design and density will vary. Print menu in the form of three fold A4 sheet is generally used as take away menu to advertise the restaurant to the general public. They can either be given away to the diners when they leave the hotel or be placed with daily newspapers or given as hand outs in high traffic places. No matter in whatever context, the menu printing is used; it is all for promoting the restaurant and its business to the mass.
