These Is What Typical Pedicures Require

Fashion & Cosmetics,Family & Parenting,Self Improvement
A pedicure is a method used to enhance the look of the feet, and their nails. It offers a service that is very akin to that of a manicure. The word pedicure is actually derived from the Latin words pes, and cura, which mean respectively foot and care. Foot reflexology has been in use throughout the world, especially for giving the foot massages. It is said to soothe the nerves of the feet, which is believed to have beneficial effects for the entire human body as a whole. It is also known that many practitioners and in some cases, certain types of traditional healers, use hot stones in their massages. Certain masse uses unique creams with mint of menthol in them, and this is believed to have a rejuvenating effect on one's foot. Well known is the fact that pumice stones are used to rub and scrub off dead skin, dirt and other such things from the feet.

Typical pedicures may require the following: * Towels -To wipe the feet dry after the initial wash. * Cotton balls -For application of lotions * Cuticle pusher or Cuticle nipper- To nip or push the cuticles to provide a perfect finish * Lotion -To soothe and provide the pedicure effect * Cuticle cream -To make the cuticles soft, so that they will not hurt while trimming or clipping * Orangewood sticks -For lotion application * Toenail clippers -To clip nails and stubborn edges * Foot bath- To provide a place for the feet to be placed while washing and massaging * Acetone - To remove old nail polish and * Antibacterial soap - For sanitizing and cleaning purposes

Normal pedicures may involve the following steps: * Get rid of the old nail polish using acetone and the lotion * File all of the nails and cut all the nails if necessary. * Put both feet in some lukewarm water that has both liquidized soap and Hydrogen peroxide * Clean the feet with a nailbrush, a foot scrapper and a pumice stone. * Withdraw the feet from the foot basin and clean then both carefully and thoroughly with the soft towel. * Take one of the cotton balls and dip them in Antiseptic lotion. Using an orange stick, apply lotion below the free edge of each nail very carefully. * Next, the cuticle must be softened, so buff the cuticle. * Push and make the cuticle go back gently by loosening it. * Massage the feet and legs for about five-ten minutes thoroughly.

The final step involves the application of the first coat of nail polish. Allow the nails to dry, following which you can apply the second coat. A good pedicure can always be judged by the way the feet feel after one. Ideal pedicures are characterized by a sense of cleanliness and freeness of the feet. The legs will feel light, and one is extremely relaxed. The best way to celebrate a pedicure though, is by getting a pair of shoes that are most comfortable, and yet show off your beauty!
