Has the Recent Google Update put and end to Domain Squatters and Automated SEO

Internet Marketing,Internet

The most recent google update, officially named the penguin update for some reason, has got a lot of companies panicking like crazy, all the usual horror stories are out, people claim that their sites have drop ten pages on google and that their businesses are suffering because of it. but what's the official story about the Penguin update?

The Penguin update was an update that was primarily introduced to filter out SEO spammers who achieved their page one ranking through quantity and not the quality of backlinks, once topical blogs started to fill up with nonsense comments created by automated software making them unusable and no longer worth visiting, Google decided to bring out a new algorithm that favour quality over quantity which was great news for any professional search engine optimisation company who manually built links and other content for their clients but bad news for all the dodgy companies using software and automatic link networks.

If you or your company was using a search engine optimisation or internet marketing company to promote your website or your companies website and the site took a nosedive or even disappeared altogether from the ranking after the recent penguin update then the company being used was employing these automated and unethical techniques, no matter what they tell you, no professional SEO company saw any negative effect after the update and a spokesperson from one top Manchester SEO agency said "The Panda update has been a godsend, our clients sites are doing better than ever, hopefully we'll be able to bring in more staff now to cope with the increased demand for our services". Quite a few professional UK based SEO agencies have had to make cutbacks over recent years in both staff and the size or premises, simply because they could not compete with the increasing amount of non-UK based SEO companies offering cut priced services based around these automated systems, hopefully lots of internet marketing work will return to the UK, create more jobs and strengthen our economy. So the overall opinion of the recent Google update is that it is welcomed and long overdue.

Another long overdue 'fixed' so to speak to come out of the latest algorithm update is the weight that keyword stuffed domain names have always had on the rankings. Its been many years since you could get away with stuffing four or five keywords into a domain name and get good results but domain names with two or three keywords included still manage to reign supreme with little or no seo work and poor content usually unrelated to the keywords included in the domain, leaving quality sites ranking below them no matter how much optimisation was done and how high the quality and relevancy of the website content and although a good domain name still helps it's not the be all and end all anymore and we are starting to see sites with better content now climbing above the sites who's domain is an exact match for the term you searched for, this is not only good news for companies preferring their company name as their URL but it also puts an end to the hold domain squatters and domain vultures have over us, a group of unethical companies and individuals who's only skills involve buying up keyword packed domain names and attempting to sell them on to companies for thousands with the promise of ranking high without the need for seo.

In a nutshell the Google Penguin update says goodbye to bad, unethical seo techniques, dodgy automated content and link networks, and hopefully an end to domain squatting and domain vultures in general. hard working, honest internet business owners need not worry..
