Grand Canyon River Rafting Tours On The Web

Travel & Tourism

There are many ways to see the Grand Canyon, helicopter flights and white-water rafting being just two of them. Such thrills are not welcome by everyone, however. Many, including families with children, prefer a gentler ride. Slow moving trips, or Grand Canyon float tours down the Colorado River are offered between March and November every year.

It is much easier to take photos if you move slowly. There's also plenty to see from your vantage point below the rims of the canyon. Several million years of river action created amazing caves and striations in the canyon walls. Along with that, your Hualapai river guide will give a great description of his ancestors as you take these Grand Canyon float tours.

You should definitely keep your eyes open on the Grand Canyon Rafting Tour. In the sky, you might see birds of prey. Bighorn sheep are also a common sight. The hot springs in the cliffs expel hot water.

Your choices are definitely not limited if you want to take Grand Canyon float tours on the Colorado River. One of the rafting trips begins near Hoover dam and takes you ten miles down river. If you include a Hoover Dam tour in your package, you'll learn how remarkable this engineering achievement truly is. You might have a picnic lunch on the shores of Lake Mead during the rafting trips, or you could simply have a snack on the way back to the hotel.

In order to bring children, they must be at least four years old. There are group rates for special corporate outings if you prefer. The Grand Canyon provides a great backdrop for any employee party. If you're a newly-wed bride, you could invite the women in your bridal party to a Colorado River rafting trip to thank them.

Those wishing to participate in a float tour will be picked up directly from their hotels. Some people are brought to the launch site by motor coach, while others come by van. These vans and buses are air conditioned and have comfy seats with plenty of leg room, but the buses also have video screens.

35 people can sit in each raft on the Grand Canyon tours. That means you'll be able to make some new friends while you're floating down the river and sharing your experiences with each other.

If you wish, you can book a combination Grand Canyon tour. The trips start with a flight over the Grand Canyon National Park. Once the chopper lands, you will board the 35 person raft. Once you see the view from the raft, you will realize how much different the perspective from the air is.

Bring the right clothes when you leave for your one-day rafting tour. You are most definitely going to get yourself wet, particularly if you go for a swim -- bring a towel and a change of clothes. While the morning and evening will be cold, afternoons will be very hot in the desert. You should try to bring sunscreen, a sweater, and of course, a hat.

The author is a travel reviewer and a specialist on Grand Canyon tours. If you want low-cost 1-day rafting trips, she recommends going to this great site now: http://www.grandcanyondaytrips.com/the-one-day-grand-canyon-rafting-experience
