So it becomes very difficult for Hyundai to market sedan cars and SUV's. But now things are changing with its fludic design philosophy. Hyundai has introduced the new Elantra, which is based on the fluidic design philosophy. It is priced between 12.51 lakh to 15.85 lakh. Although the design theme is similar to all Hyundai models, but it is best described in Hyundai Elantra. Elantra was earlier introduced but failed to make any mark as there wasn't sufficient demand for D segment cars. The new neo elantra has a well porportioned exterior complemented by a feature rich and comfortable exterior. Hyundai Elantra has a number of Variants such as Hundai Elantra X, SX, SXAT are the petrol versions and Hyundai Elantra X (D), SX(D) and SXAT(D) are it's diesel versions. Besides it's looks, the new Elantra is equipped with touchscreen Infotainment system with at - nav, Bluetooth, Heated door mirrors and steering mounted controls, ventilated front seats, electric front seats with driver's seat memory function, cruise control, dual zone climate control, leather upholstery, keyless entry, automatic hill hold function and panoramic sunroof. The new Elantra will face competiton from the Toyota Corolla, Skoda Laura, Chevrolet Cruze and Volkswagen Jetta. The Maruti Kazashi has failed to make any mark and the Honda has discontinued its Honda Civic, that results in less competition. Hyundai Elantra is available in seven variants. The diesel base variant of Hyundai Elantra which comes with 16 inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, height adjustable driver seat, trip computer heated mirrors, satellite radio, four speakers sound system along with a CD player, 40/ 60 split folding rear seat and iPOD USB audio interface with auxilary audio jack. The next version available is Hyundai Elantra's mid variant. The 2012 Hyundai Elantra neo fluidic is powered by a four cylinder 1.8 liter engine capable of producing 146 Bhp and a healthy torque of 186 Nm, the power is carried to the front wheels by a five speed manual and automatic transmission. Being a D segment car you get the features like Dual zone climate control, ventilated seats, active front head rests, sat nav, bluetooth connectivity, airbags (front and side) , antilock disc brakes. The seats are quite comfy and has enough thigh and lumbar support, the neo elantra has enough seating space even at the back seat you won't have your knees hitting the front seat as you get enough leg room to stretch your legs. Hyundai has taken into consideration as most Indian owners like to be chauffered and hence have looked into the comfort features of its passengers. The quality of the materials used is exquisite , in the top end version you get leather seats, which provide a rich look accompanied with a rear view camera and traffic navigating system. The company won't be hoping bulk sales from Elantra but will look to target a considerable amount of market share, though the final decision will be made by the consumer but going by the recent success of the Hyundai Fluidic design philosophy the new Elantra is sure to turn the tide.
