He tells you about his life. When the bell rings, it means that your time is up with this person and you move on to the next person. At the end of the night, you write down on a piece of paper your phone number and candidates that you found interesting. This sheet of paper is given to the coordinators of the speed dating event. Everyone else at the event will do the same thing. The event coordinators will go through all of the sheets of paper and determine who likes who. If there are any matches for the night, they will pass along the respective phone numbers. If there aren't, then there are still no hurt feelings. Why Do People Like It? People like speed dating because it saves a lot of time, money and possible heartbreak. First of all, it saves time because you get to talk to different people for a set amount of time. Sure, you might not get the full version of what a person is all about, but you can tell within those few minutes if someone is not suited for you. Sometimes it might be just the little things that you hate. But, it is better to know this upfront. Wouldn't you hate to spend the entire night with someone who was driving you nuts? Second, it saves a lot of money. No longer will men have to spend money on dates that they do not like. They can save their money for the women that they really like. Third, it keeps you from getting all wrapped up in someone who does not feel the same about you. At the end of the night, the event coordinators match up the names of people who were both interested in each other. Even if you were interested in someone, if this person does not feel the same, you will not get that person's phone number.
