How frustrating do you think it must be for people with disabilities when they arrive in a building and find Wheelchair Lifts are nowhere to be seen? It must be a nightmare if they wheel into public buildings only to find there’s a distinct lack of Platform Lifts to be found. I’m one of the lucky ones, I’m an able-bodied person but even I can see problems in certain buildings that lack Platform Lifts. It’s so annoying, especially when you consider the fact that Platform Lifts are freely available that blend so naturally into the background. They offer safe and smooth transition between floors of up to 2000mm and the Platform Lifts operate with total stability throughout. Platform Lifts are designed for user comfort The one thing you notice straight away when Wheelchair Lifts are in action is how comfortable people seem to be on the Platform Lifts. There’s no drama, no awkwardness, no fiddling with complicated controls, Platform Lifts are designed for wheelchair users and they have their needs firmly at heart. Operating Platform Lifts is easy and they come with press and hold functions as standard. This gives the user total control over the Platform Lifts although one touch options are also available and both versions come with emergency stop buttons as standard. Why not install ‘hard to spot’ Wheelchair Lifts Retractable stairs are a different type of Platform Lift that can be used on an ad hoc basis and they act like normal stairs when not in use. The main section of stairs will retract away when the Platform Lifts are called leaving a base section that acts as the lift floor. The control panel for the Platform Lifts also retracts out of sight when not in use, yet it’s within easy reach when the lift is in action. Platform Lifts with retracting stairs are stylish features that blend into their environment they’re practical and provide joint access for pedestrians and wheelchair users as well. They ensure companies remain compliant with the disability discrimination act and can be fitted into a wide range of buildings to suit various applications.
