Kanyakumai, nicknamed as the Land’s End, is situated in the state of Tamil Nadu in the southernmost point of the Indian peninsula. The name Kanyakumari means the virgin girl and is believed to be one of the incarnations of Goddess Parvathi. There is a temple for Parvathi in Kanyakumari called Kumari Amman Temple.
