Tirupati is a city located in the Chittoor district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in the Eastern Ghats and is a major pilgrimage centre in India. Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is located near Tirupati. It is one of the richest and most-visited pilgrimage centres of the country. The temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is also known as Kaliyuga Vaikuntam. The city is also a major cultural and educational centre of the state. Bangalore or Bengaluru is a rapidly developing metropolitan city in South India. It is the capital city of the state of Karnataka. It is one of the most populated cities in India. Bangalore is considered to be the capital of Information Technology in India and is known as the ‘Silicon Valley of India’. It is also known as the ‘garden city of India’. Bangalore was a part of various kingdoms in the past. The origin of modern Bangalore can be dated back to the year 1537. Bangalore is home to various industries, colleges and research institutions. Bangalore is a major city that is connected to different parts of the country and the world by domestic and international flights. Bengaluru International Airport is located at about 40 km from the centre of the city. It is one of the busiest airports in India. Renigunta Airport or Tirupati airport is the nearest airport to Tirupati and is located at about 14 km from the city. Another airport that is located near Tirupati is the Chennai International Airport. Bangalore is well connected by rail and daily trains are available from Bangalore to Tirupati. Tirupati is located at a distance of about 250 km from Bangalore city. It takes about 6 hours to reach tirupati from Bangalore by rail. Some of the trains that ply from Bangalore to Tirpuati are Yesvantpur- Tirupati Tri Weekly Intercity (12543), Yesvantpur Bhubaneswar Express (12846), Yasvantpur Tatanagar SF Express (12890), Yesvantpur Hatia Express (12836) and Seshadri Express (17209). The trains to Tirupati depart from Yesvantpur Jn and Bangalore Cy Jn. Bangalore is well connected to Tirupati by road. There are several bus services that operate from Bangalore to Tirupati. Luxury and Volvo A/C buses are also available. The bus fares range from Rs 115 to Rs 255 depending on the type of bus you choose. Travelling by bus is recommended for youngsters and backpackers. You can also hire a taxi from Bangalore to Tirupati which will cost about Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,800. Tirupati is one of the most visited pilgrimage centres in India.
