Which can be used as health food is 5% oil agent. 2% astaxanthin powder agent, by synthetic or extract from shrimp, crab wastewater, mostly used in dyeing, non edible animal food additives, cannot be used for cosmetics, prohibited processing or using in health products and medicines. 0.5% astaxanthin water solvent, generally derived from red yeast, 100% dextral structure, its antioxidant activity is far less than natural astaxanthin. Used for cosmetics material and some topical anti-inflammatory drugs, are generally not using in medicines and health care products. Natural astaxanthin 5% oil, 100% left-handed structure, extract from Haematococcus pluvialis powder, is dark red grease. Dissolve in base oil, edible oil, alcohol, and other organic solvents, insoluble in water, exhibited a strong lipophilic. So, natural left-handed astaxanthin 5% oil agent is only can be used as a food additive, pharmaceutical, health care products, production of astaxanthin preparation. The final is looking the package, any oral health astaxanthin related products packaging must be used the name of "Haematococcus pluvialis", use "astaxanthin" as the named are not qualified. At present, astaxanthin have not been included in both food and medicaments items list. The existing products are not health food batches of astaxanthin, only produce and sale in special meals food. In the process of choosing astaxanthin health products, we must know, understand the origin of raw materials. Aastaxanthin as a health product can only originate from Haematococcus pluvialis, and the production, aquaculture of Haematococcus pluvialis on the environment, technical ability is demanding high.
