You can have the HTTP Proxy Setup with the use of different internet browsers with the use of the following: The first type would be with the use of the internet explorer 4.x wherein you are going to click VIEW then INTERNET OPTIONS. After doing that, click the CONNECTIONS and enable the USE A PROXY SERVER. Then, in the fields of ADDRESS and PORT, you are going to encode the proxy name and the proxy port. If it is needed, you will have to enable the BYPASS PROXY SERVER FOR LOCAL ADDRESSES and then click OK. Second would be with the use of the Netscape navigator 4.x and you are going to click EDIT then PREFERENCES. Next thing is by choosing the CATEGORY then ADVANCED and PROXIES afterwards. The third thing that you are going to set is the MANUAL PROXY CONFIGURATION and then, click VIEW that can be found at the MANUAL PROXY CONFIGURATION and afterwards, you are going to set up proxies for the following protocols such as the FTP, HTTP and many other protocols. The next one would be using the Opera 5.x – 7.x then you are going to click FILE then PREFERENCES. In the menu of the CATEGORY, you are going to choose NETWORK then choose the button for the PROXY SERVERS. The next thing to be done is setting up the proxies for protocols such as HTTP and any other protocols. You will be able to enable proxies for the respective protocols by activating the options HTTP or HTTPS and many others. Another option will be using the Mozilla Firefox wherein you are going to choose the TOOLS option then the OPTIONS. Look for the GENERAL and the CONNECTION SETTINGS. Then you will need to choose the MANUAL PROXY CONFIGURATION and enter the proxy IP and port to their respective fields. By clicking the OK button, you will be able to close the CONNECTION SETTINGS. Once again, click the OK to close the OPTIONS then you are going to reload the browser. Lastly, with the use of the Konqueror, you are going to choose the SETTING option then the CONFIGURE KONQUEROR. Click the PROXIES and enable to USE PROXY then lastly, set the proxies of the protocols such as FTP, HTTP and many other protocols that can be used in your browser. If you do not have the browsers stated above, then it these steps would not work on your setup and you will be in need to look for another that will match your browser.
