Essel World is an amusement park located at the coastal village of Gorai in Mumbai. It was one of the first amusement parks in India. This is the only international style amusement park built within Mumbai. Spread over 64 acres of land and initiated in 1986 by Subhash Chandra of the Essel Group. In 1998, Water Kingdom Section was added. It can be reached from the suburbs of Borivali or Malad and attracts 10,000 visitors every day. Very well connected by road and rail, auto rickshaws are there from the nearest places. You can also travel in your own vehicle and enjoy long driving. From Mumbai, take Western Express Highway (WEH), turn left to Kashmira and drive down to Mira-Bhayander Road. Our signages will guide you to reach the park. It will take around 1 hour from Kashmira. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes with ups and downs while driving. Take MBBT Bus No. 4 from Bhayander Bus Depot to reach directly to the park. You can use train or bus service to reach Essel World. If you are more excited by ferry riding, take a Western Railway train to either Malad or Borivali Station. From Malad, take BEST bus No. 272 to Marve Beach and from Borivali, take BEST bus No. 294 to Gorai Creek where Marve Beach and Gorai Creek are the bus termination points. Essel World has its own ferries from Marve Beach and Gorai Creek to take you across to the park. Ferries are available every 15 minutes from Gorai Creek and it is a 15 minutes water-ride to the Essel World.You will get ferries every 45 minutes from Marve Beach and it takes 30 minutes to reach this amusement park. Auto rickshaws are also available from Malad or Borivali Station. Daily buses are available from Mumbai, Pune, Nasik and Gujarat which are run by authorised travel agents. The park is divided into two main parts and they are Essel World (amusement park) and Water Kingdom (a water park). It provides a variety of exciting rides, games and other attractions like standard Roller Coaster and adventure themes. Water Kingdom has waterslides for adults and kids, a drifting river and theme cruises. The latest introduction at Essel World is Rock Climbing and Free Fall Command Bridge near RRA Area and new Lazer Tag Game and there will be separate charges for these games. Essel World opens on all days from 10 AM to 8 PM. The entry fee for an adult is Rs. 450 on weekdays and Rs. 480 on weekend. For children, it is Rs. 250 on weekdays and Rs. 350 on weekend.
