A bridge card table is a piece of furniture used to play bridge on. It is usually a square piece of timber with four foldaway legs. If you want to have a game of bridge at home, then it is recommend that you use a card table. Of course you can play on your kitchen table or bed but this wont be as comfortable as playing on a card table. There is quite a range of card tables available for playing bridge. Some are small tables like picnic tables with vinyl tops and foldaway timber legs. These are OK to play bridge on but tend to be a bit small and shaky. There are nicer tables as well and usually these are larger tables with vinyl or velour tops and some even look like elegant prices of household furniture. You will have a much more enjoyable game of bridge on these nicer tables. Bridge boards are rectangular card holders that sit on the card table during the course of the play. They are used to store the cards in between games. Bridge DVDs are usually instructional movies stored on the dvd media. When they are not in their protective cases or actually being played in your DVD player or computer you can place them on you card table and admire them. If you have enough bridge DVDs you could even completely cover your bridge table with all the DVDs. Jack bridge is a computer software game that you play on a desktop or laptop computer. You could place your laptop computer on your bridge table while you are playing the Jack computer game but it is strongly recommended you do not put your desktop tower on the card table while you play bridge. It might be too heavy for the card table. Really, the best use for card tables is to play the bridge card game, not for displaying bridge DVDs or the Jack computer game. And ideally the card table should be square to accommodate the four bridge players [one on each side of the square card table]. Players will normally have a favourite side to sit on and will always sit opposite their partners on this card table. If a card table has a rough surface, players should avoid putting their Jack computer game or bridge DVD on the surface as this will scratch the Jack computer game or bridge DVD and make the DVD unreadable. There are tricks though to repairing a scratched DVD or CD and I think toothpaste might help repair the scratches.
