Tourism can be an important source of revenue for a country and it can be especially important now with the current crisis. So how can a country increase its tourism? By promoting himself in order to have the more touristic revenue as possible, it means having a good Marketing Country. The Marketing Country works like in any company. In this case, instead of attracting consumers we are attracting tourists. Tourism can be an important source of revenue for some country, so it is really important to master it. Do we want to attract families, couples, adventurers? Everything has to be set in order to use the marketing strategy adapted and to have a good marketing country. Of course each region doesn’t have same touristic capacity. In order to measure the Marketing Country and only the marketing itself we can focus on the tools used and how we use it more than the result itself. As an example a region with a really low touristic capacity but with a really good marketing strategy and having, even if low, the best revenue it can expect, can be considered as having a good Marketing Country and so a good rating. In contrast, a country with huge touristic revenue can have a poor Marketing Country. It means that the country has a lot of touristic revenue because it is a huge tourist destination but have a poor marketing strategy. This means that the country could have higher revenue, its strategy is not efficient because even if it has high tourism revenues, it is not at his higher level and possibilities. To sum up the Marketing Country has to be efficient in order to promote the country the best way possible using the best strategy possible. Having high tourism revenue can seem enough for some people, but the most interesting is not really to be better than another but to be as best as we can.
