Authorities continued Tuesdy to search for two Tennessee girlsabducted by a man who is believed to have killed their mother andolder sister and dumped their bodies in a backyard. FBI officials confirmed that the bodies are that of Jo Ann Bain,31, and her 14-year-old daughter Adrienne. The nationwide searchcontinues for Jo Ann's two younger daughters, Alexandria, 12, andKyliyah, 8, who are considered to be in extreme danger. Adrienne and Alexandria were enrolled in different elementaryschools within the Marana Unified School District near Tucson offand on between 2004 and 2009, according to Tamara Crowley, aspokeswoman for the district. FBI officials say they believe the Bains were in the process ofmoving back to Arizona at the time of their disappearance. All four were reported missing April 27 by Jo Ann Bain's husband,Gary, according to Joel E. Siskovic, a spokesman for the FBI inMemphis. Adam Mayes, 35, a family friend, is wanted on suspicion of fourcounts of aggravated kidnapping. Mayes was last seen on May 1 inGunstown, Miss., Siskovic said. As an intense manhunt for Mayes and the two young girls continued,his wife, Teresa Mayes, and mother, Mary Mayes, were arraigned in aHardeman County, Tenn., courtroom. Teresa Mayes, 30, was chargedwith especially aggravated kidnapping and Mary Mayes, 65, wascharged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Teresa Mayes told investigators she drove Jo Ann Bain and herdaughters from Hardeman County, where they lived, to Union County,Miss., where Adam and Teresa Mayes lived with his parents,according to an affidavit filed in court. An attorney for Teresa Mayes declined to comment Tuesday afternoon.Calls to the attorney assigned to Mary Mayes were not immediatelyreturned. Bond was set at $500,000 for Teresa Mayes and $300,000 for MaryMayes. The Bain family was last seen in their home in Hardeman County,Tenn. just north of the Mississippi border, Siskovic said. Mayes initially cooperated with the investigation, but later fledfrom authorities. He is considered to be armed and dangerous,Siskovic said. FBI officials have reason to believe that Mayes might have changedhis appearance as well as the appearance of the two girls bycutting or coloring their hair. There is a $50,000 reward for information that leads to thelocation of the missing family and the arrest of Mayes.
