Sharmipet is a place located at about 30 km north of Hyderabad, the capital of Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The place is known for having a lake named Sharmipet Lake. In fact, the place itself is identified by the fame of this lake. Shamirpet in Hyderabad is also referred as Pedda Chervu. It is a much preferred tourist destination and draws lots of tourists from different parts of the country as well as the world. A few of the exciting tourist spots of this area apart from Shamirpet Lake are Deer Park and Ratnalayam. Ratnalayam is a devotional place dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara, which is modified in recent times. It is also an ideal place to look into and seek blessings from the Lord. Traveling from Secunderabad to Sharmipet at Hyderabad is an awesome experience. The road from Secunderabad after 7 km takes you to Alwal flyover. From there the way is really remarkable with sights of cantonment region and plants on the edges of the streets. Shamirpet is located 22 Km away from Secunderabad and 30 km from Hyderabad. It takes about 45 minutes from Secunderabad to arrive at Shamirpet. Cabs services are available from Secunderabad to the lake town. You can take buses from Train Place and JBS (Jubilee Bus Station) to Karimnagar and Siddipet which goes via Shamirpet Lake. A short drive from Secunderabad will take you to the spectacular lake of Shamirpet. The place is famous among the picnickers who visit the place to relax. Close to the lake is the Deer Park, which is a favorite hangout place for families and other visitors. The park is opened to public from 9 am to 5 pm. You will find this park crowded with tourists and locals especially during vacations and holidays. Located in the river bund, Katta Maisamma is deity worshipped with great respect. The divine being is believed to safeguard the visitors. The area together with a tiny pond, act as a habitat to a few of the small and great natural world. You can also find a well maintained lawn here. Sharmipet Lake in Hyderabad has a small dam with some overflow gateways. These gateways are opened in summer season. The Katta maisamma temple is located at the beginning of the bund. There is a small hotel with fascinating little bungalows. The hotel also has a restaurant which is the only café in the Sharmipet Lake town. You can also bring food or prepare them from here. Spending a weekend or vacation with your family or friends in Sharmipet Lake at Hyderabad is a perfect choice to relax from the tight schedules of your life.
