Tourism development strategies to attract new tourists in order to boost their economic growth and employment. Indeed, tourism development must be based on a specific strategy with clear goals and cannot be a series of ad campaign that are not coordinated. Tourism development strategies consist of several steps like branding and communicating the country’s offer and features. The strategy used is different from a country to another and each has to sell what they do best to potential tourists featuring the best spots in the country and the services this country offers best. In order to have a coherent image conveyed, the Tourism development strategies put in place must be followed through each step and through every campaign and ad that has been done. The communication strategy must stay consistent with the overall strategy that the country has adopted so that potential customers are not confused with different images and messages the country would try to convey, messages and images that can be opposites. If the country is looking to have an image of adventure tourism hub, then it should stick with this idea and communicate around it. It should not spend resources on developing a cultural destination, which it probably is not in reality. Countries sometimes want to propose every possible thing to the potential tourists, from adventure to spas and resorts or culture and leisure. Proposing too much at a time may confuse the customer, that’s why a Tourism development strategies is essential.
