Every year there are a millions of races across the globe. Most of these are the start of campaigns which seek to spread awareness of certain social causes that need our immediate attention. The list of these causes vary from place to place, but the races all commence with the same goal in mind: to create a wide supporting audience for the propagation of the cause in context. Educational institutions usually organize or sponsor these runs and seek to bring this aspect of the education system to the forefront. 3. General Public Welfare: The greatest medium of making the mass population engage in its own development is to initiate marathons which promote the cause of public welfare. It could be anything, making a new public library across the block for children and teenagers or reconstructing a decayed part of the community church, the marathon calendar has runs which make the causes of public property developments as one of their prime aspects. This encourages the citizens of the country to contribute to their own development through the marathon run. 4. Global Warming: It is the cry of the hour that our environment needs our maximum protection. What better way than to organize marathon events which support the motto of “Go Green” all the way through. Environmentalists, students, teachers and philanthropists come together in large numbers for this cause and try and give their best shot by pulling through the entire stretch of the run. The government then gathers enough funds to mobilize a large amount of the population to trail on the fundamentals of recycling.
