Here are some website design tips that are should definitely help you perfect your website. Web Design can often be a finicky beast so the following web design tips should be of some help to beginners: You should test your site on multiple browsers. Your site may look quite different on different browsers, so don’t be caught unaware! There are various resources to find which browsers are more popular. Make sure your website works in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and the major mobile browsers. Put together a few checklists and cheat sheets for each new task you learn, so you can do it again without committing the same mistakes. When opting to have these resources at hand, you will have a source of inspiration for ways in which you can further build and refine your website. The more work you put into learning web design, the easier it will get. So once you have the basics, start a simple web page using HTML. See if you’ve got what it takes. You have to begin practicing at some point, so it’s best to begin now rather than waiting until later. If your site has a logo, you want to be sure that when you click it you go right to your homepage. Most people now expect clickable logos that take them back to the main web page. It is frustrating for them if the logo is just static, because this means they have to find your home link. A simple logo that can be clicked on will make your site easy to navigate. If you are a web designer, it is good to be an artist. Be open-minded and, when you have an idea, record it so you won’t forget it. If you’re eating out and an idea comes to you, be sure to jot that idea on your napkin. If that great and inspiring thought comes your way while you’re on the job, send yourself an email so you can act on the idea at a later time. Error check, or validate, your web pages to avoid problems. Some editors, especially ones that don’t require you to directly input code, add extraneous code to your webpages that may slow your site down or cause it to work incorrectly. Go through your code and use a validation service to make sure your code is clear enough. W3C proves a service which is free that can be used to validate web pages. Buy books that describe popular web design techniques. Choose books adapted to your current level of skills and very comprehensive. Read reviews before buying anything. A good webpage can be piece of art when the designer is skilled. Quality web design will distinguish the best designs from the rest. You need to know what you’re doing when it comes to web design. Try to become more knowledgeable about web design using the tips below. A well-designed webpage is a real thing of beauty, if you know what you’re doing.
