Ghostwriting is a remarkably fluid way for a writer to find relatively fast financial success, at least as long as the writers are willing to put the needed attention into grooming the right relationships. Though the ceiling for earning potential with is high when it comes to ghostwriting, it also requires far more than the ability to write. More than the written word, it is a ghostwriter's level of communication that will allow them to find soaring success. High expectations exist for a ghostwriter's work long before first contact. Potential clients imagine that the ghostwriter they hire will be the ones who will make their dreams come true. IIn one respect, this is a ghostwriter's primary job. Obviously discretion is key since a ghostwriter is rarely able to receive credit for their words. This accounts for the higher pay scale. Since they cannot claim credit for the work, they are often rewarded at a slightly rate for their silence. Building the base of the ghostwriter/client relationship is something that must be done from first contact. Properly measuring the expectations of the client is the best way to ensure that a ghostwriter not only meets them, but consistently and easily surpass them as well. Here are a few tips to make certain you are starting your relationship right. 1) Observe: Whether exchanging an email or conducting a long phone interview, being a diligent observer is one of the most important attributes that any writer should possess. The greater the ghostwriter's interest in the subject matter, the better their writing will probably be. Listening to the potential client is the best way to rally your own interest. 2) Make your exchange personal without ever abandoning the professional tone. Remember, the first round of communication is an interview for both parties. If you find warning signs that the client might be demanding, it is best to decline the job at the start. It is better to leave the track then to keep circling it. 3) Be aware of phrases that jingle your warning bells. If you hear any of the following, it is possible the client isn't the best fit: You might have to do a little research... the client has a concept for a book, but will expect you to do all the research and articulation for the final product. This one's a quickie... the client has a fundamental misunderstanding about the time and effort it takes to properly craft outstanding copy. This should be an easy job... see above. I could write it myself, but I don't have the time... this client might fancy themselves a writer. They will want to copy edit everything you do. Proceed with caution. philosophy essay paper
