A type of pancake, it's made with black gram and rice batter. The mix is fermented for several hours. The batter is then fried to wafer-thin proportions and served with an accompaniment of chutneys and pigeon peas. Idli Idli, like dosa, is another breakfast dish originating in India. It's made with lentils and steamed into rice cakes. It's served with an assortment of chutneys and sambar. Nasi goreng Originating in Indonesia, nasi goreng is a very popular dish consisting of fried rice, sweet soy sauce, condiments, chicken, prawn and eggs. It's widely considered to be the country's national dish. Katsudon Katsudon is Japanese and hugely popular. It comprises rice, eggs, spices and pork cutlets served in a bowl. It can also be served with sauce. Kheer Kheer is served as dessert. The rice is overcooked to achieve a creamy texture and mixed with milk, condensed milk and sugar.
