News Armour Home Electronics and Alphason Designs Merge Due to MarketConditions (7/12/2010) Armour Home Electronics and Alphason Designs Limited are bothdivisions of Armour Group Plc. Following a comprehensive internalreview, brought about by the challenging conditions affecting itsentire market sector, the two are to merge completely in order tostreamline their operations. Managing Director Glenn McClelland, stated: "These changes will both consolidate and perpetuateAmour"s leading market position, ensuring a sound platformfor future growth. We have embarked upon a course of action tofully integrate the two businesses into a single entity called'Armour Home'. Alphason, which accounts for around £20M ofour £56M turnover, will of course clearly remain the mostsignificant brand within the restructured organisation, but willnow sit alongside the other Armour Home brands, rather than as aseparate company." Mr McClelland concluded: "We anticipate it will take somemonths to fully complete this operation, however the starting pointis the integration of management functions with immediateeffect." Sales Director Chris Emerson, formerly Chief Operating Officer atAlphason, takes up the post of Armour Home"s Sales Director.Now able to focus completely on sales, Chris will be supported byAshley Hutchinson (UK Independents Sales Manager), Gordon Salter(International Sales Manager), all members of the Key Accounts teamand Gary McBride (Telesales and Merchandising Manager). Operations Director Kevin Taylor becomes Operations Director withresponsibility for all operations and all staff relating topurchasing, production, distribution and stock control. Kevin willbe targeting a significant reduction in purchasing expenditure,whilst providing our customers with an ever improving level ofservice. Finance and Administration Director Nicky Spence is appointed AHFinance Director with responsibility for all staff related toFinance and Admin functions. Business Development Director Bob Abraham will continue to beinvolved in all aspects of new product development including newidea generation, brand and product plans, new technologies andintellectual property registration. He will continue to workalongside the R & D teams in both Armour Home and atArmour"s Concept Design Centre.
