In many ways what sustainable and fashion do not really sit together nicely. I have heard sustainable fashion referred to as both oxymoronic and a contradiction as well as perhaps this is true. It may therefore come like a shock to some that vegan fashion isn't necessarily the most honest and sustainable option. Vegan shoes may be made without using any animal products but that doesn't mean that they happen to be made in ethical industrial facilities or using sustainable materials actually the synthetic materials used rather than leather are often damaging towards the environment in their personal way. If you desire to be absolutely sure that your own vegan shoes or purses are completely ethical as well as sustainable, you will need to find a brand that pays attention to many of these issues. Next on the listing of contradiction and confusion encircling sustainable fashion is the idea of ethical fashion. Many ethical fashion manufacturers support various good causes all over the world and empower people to produce a sustainable livelihood. However to be able to support these great leads to, it does involve purchasing clothes, perhaps clothes that people don't really need or even are not made through sustainable fabrics. The much more we buy, the more we assist these great causes but additionally the more we eat. The subject of sustainable fashion is really a complex one and the confusion surrounding it's sometimes used by manufacturers to green wash consumers using the terms 'eco' and 'sustainable' to explain clothing or collections that might help in one way although not another.
