It’s always funny to hear that horse jockeys, the ones who ride racing horses, don’t usually know how to raise horse. It’s a whole lot different ballgame actually, when you ride a horse, you get to know him as he is. A mature stallion maybe or an exuberant mare, all adult horses that when all is said and done, have been broken and taught to respect their riders already. Jockeys have it easy; it’s the horse breeders that get the brunt of the horse training. Like all domesticated animals, horses are very sensitive and perceptive. When you shout at it, beat it, cage it, it’s going to get wild and crazy eventually. But of you show utmost care for it, lots of loving and caring coupled with healthy food and a clean environment, your horse will give you the respect that you have shown him too. It’s easy to understand why horse jockeys get obedient horses to ride, aside from them being fast and all, it’s because their horse breeders raised them to be that way. To cage a horse is a sin so bad that it’s so harsh a penalty even for a misbehaving horse. They have these four legs that can travel for miles; they can go really fast in a few seconds tops! This only means that they need to have time to stretch them even once a day and in an area that isn't too constricted. Its exercise for them too, you don’t want a fat horse in your stable that’s for sure, if your raising race horses then you need fit and healthy horses that you can bet on to win any horse race. Supplements are something that horse breeders know to be very important. When horses run, they run blindly and for hours. When they get tired, they still will run and they only stop when they are told to stop or when they fall down and die. This is not a joke actually, horses know fatigue but they cope with it differently. When they get too tired and can’t run anymore, they just fall to their sides and wait to die. Long ago a bullet in the head is the best way to mercifully kill an over fatigued horse. That is why in most after races, horses are fed really well and are given high quality supplements. Raising horses isn't just a walk to the park easy. You need to have a healthy environment where these animals can run free, you need to have a routine exercise for them to do every day and you have to feed them well and give them supplements in order for them to grow up fast and healthy. Then the jockeys can have their pick and race those rightly grown horses for racing.
