Despite ranking 154 restaurant chains, the 2013 Consumer Picks have identified four top winners in each category. From food quality to service to differentiating factors such as menu items and word-of-mouth buzz, each winner was chosen for a variety of reasons. In-N-Out Burger swept the charts this year scoring the highest in 8 of the 10 attributes, including that of its specific winning category: Limited Service. Consumers reported the burger chain’s strengths as food quality, service, reputation and most likely to recommend. “In-N-Out is one of the rare brands that understands its purpose in its guests’ lives and delivers it consistently,” said Fred LeFranc, founding partner of consulting firm Results Thru Strategy. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store took first place in the Family Dining category based on its strengths – reputation, atmosphere and likeliness to recommend. In addition to outscoring its closest competitor, Bob Evans Restaurants, Cracker Barrel won top spots in 9 of the 10 attributes. Cheesecake Factory won the top spot for Casual Dining for the second consecutive year. With more than 200 menu selections plus its famous original cheesecake, the chain strives to differentiate itself based on its full dining experience for each guest. Lastly, Ruth’s Chris Steak House beat the competition in the Fine Dining category. While the steak house lacked in the value category, it more than made up for it in the likely to recommend, food quality and cleanliness attributes.Related Articles -
