Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon have announced that they are coming together to expand co-branded menu offerings at select mall locations throughout the U.S. “We wanted to see if we could literally blend the concepts,” said Kristen Hartman, vice president of marketing at Cinnabon. “The reason we’re so excited about this is that it really gets us into other dayparts.” The first two co-branded locations opened in Anaheim and Livermore, Calif. in November and December 2012. The co-blended locations are designed for shopping centers in order to better cater to consumers’ needs throughout the day – from early morning shoppers to mall employees who may work later at night. The new locations offers a full café menu from Cinnabon plus breakfast sandwiches, paninis and the brand’s beverage line. A few of Auntie Anne’s menu items will offered including an expanded line of specialty pretzel hot dogs. Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon are both owned by Atlanta-based Focus Brands Inc., which is also the parent company of Moe’s Southwest Grill, Schlotzsky’s and Carvel. The company said that not only was there synergy between the two company’s menu lines but, with the rising cost of real estate in some retail locations, a co-branded partnership made sense. Auntie Anne’s has about 1,300 locations, while Cinnabon has 1,000 locations nationwide. For more info, click here
