For more info, click here Yum Brands has announced plans to open between 60 and 70 restaurants this year in Russia and other former Soviet countries. Specifically, the company plans to almost double the number of restaurants currently to around 400 in the region by 2015, pushing annual revenue to $1 billion. Yum and its franchisees, including fast-food company KFC, already have 216 restaurants in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Yum opened 35 restaurants in the CIS last year alone. Currently Yum has 29 local partners in the CIS with plans to add five more in 2013. More than half of its overall sales come from China where it has nearly 5,300 restaurants, primarily KFCs. Today, Yum operates nearly 34,000 restaurants in over 100 countries and territories. Aside from KFC, Yum also operates Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Long John Silver’s.
