There are many ways to generate traffic to your site and the list continues to grow with innovative web 2.0 strategies. Although many of these newer methods have yet to pass the test of time here are 7 proven strategies that remain consistently reliable and should be included in every serious website traffic generation campaign. 1) Pay per Click This method does cost you money, however there's no quicker way to generate traffic. In both cases you'll want to include a link back to your site. Depending upon the popularity of your 'creation' people will either pass around your report or refer others to your video thus gaining you another stream of traffic to your site. 3) Link Exchanges By exchanging links with other sites you'll be combining the website traffic generation efforts of multiple website owners. Displaying links from other sites encourages your visitors to check out these sites. Insure that all sites involved are targeting the same type of visitors resulting in more targeted traffic for everybody. 4) Use SEO tactics By using the right keywords and keyword phrases within your site will insure that the search engines will display your site for people who search those keywords. There needs to be a direct correlation between the keywords used and the theme or purpose of your site. 5) Participate in forums and other social sites By participating within these type communities you can get quick recognition and website traffic. When you leave comments and/or suggestions always include a 'signature' that links back to your site.
