Lately, actress Kangna Ranaut has been staying very low-profile. After starring in five films – ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Game’, ‘Rascals’, ‘Double Dhamaal’ and ‘Miley Naa Miley Hum’ in 2011, Kangna had only one release – ‘Tezz’ in 2012. However, except ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Double Dhmaal’, which was an average, none of Kangna’s films did get critical or commercial success in the last couple of years. None the less, Kangna is now all set to strike back in Bollywood Calendar 2013. One look at, Kangna’s Bollywood Movies 2013 and it’s clear that Kangna had been planning a great line-up and that’s why she was away from the media lights. Now, Kangna has as many as six releases in 2013. While her ‘Shootout At Wadala’ has already hit the screens in the first half of 2013, her other films – ‘I Love New Year’, ‘Ungli’, ‘Krrish 3’, ‘Queen’ and ‘Revolver Rani’ will be out in the second half. Let’s check Kangna’s movie releases in 2013. Shootout At Wadala– In the underworld saga produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Kangna played a role of gangster Manya Surve’s girlfriend Vidya Joshi. Although it wasn’t the meatiest role of Kangna’s career, she played it to the T and received praises for her act. The film was also a box office success which surely added to Kangna’s star power. I Love New Year– The film also starring Sunny Deol is a rom-com directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru who earlier directed Salman Khan’s 2005 film ‘Lucky’. The film sees Kangna playing a role of a musician and she has trained a lot to get her basics right. It’s been long since T-series - the producers are trying to release their film. However, it’s now finally hitting the screens on July 26. ‘Ungli’ – Produced under the banner of Karan Johar’s ‘Dharma Productions’, the film directed by ‘Kurbaan’ director Rensil D’Silva is a crime thriller. In the film, Kangna will be seen sharing a screen space with Sanjay Dutt, Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda and Neha Dhupia. ‘Ungli’ is slated to come out in October. ‘Krrish 3’ – The superhero film is going to be the biggest release of Kangna in 2013. It will feature Kangna in a completely different avatar; she is playing a role of a superwoman. The film also stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Vivek Oberoi in the leading roles. It is going to be in theaters on November 4, during Diwali holidays. Queen – It’s a woman-centric film directed by debutant director Vikas Bahl. In the film, Kangna is playing a de-glam role and she has been paired up with Rajkumar Yadav. The film will release on October 11. ‘Revolver Rani’ – Now, this one is going to be the film to look forward to. The film has Kangna as a protagonist. Being directed by debutant Sai Kabir and produced by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film will see Kangna playing a role of a gangster and she has performed some amazing stunts. Summary: It looks like that Kangna Ranaut is back with a bang in 2013. While she has already got one hit in the form of ‘Shootout At Wadala’ under her belt, her upcoming films are looking really interesting. What’s more important is that all of them belong to different genres. While, ‘I Love New Year’ is a rom-com, ‘Ungli’ is going to be a crime thriller. If ‘Krrish 3’ is a superhero film and features Kangna as a superwoman, she is playing protagonists in female oriented films‘Queen’ and ‘Revolver Rani’. Even, there is a huge difference between her characters in ‘Queen’ and ‘Revolver Rani’. If she is playing a de-glam role and doing drama in the former, the latter will have her as a tough chick taking on goons. Overall, Kangna must be feeling very content with the kinds of films she has on her hands. She will get enough space to show her range as an actor in 2013.
